Westmoreland Manor is seeking motivated, energetic individuals to join our team as “temporary” nurse aides! As a temporary nurse aide with us, you will be part of a large, dedicated staff devoted to caring for residents in a 408-bed long-term care facility. We are seeking applicants able to succeed in a fast-paced environment and multi-task! Areas of study and evaluation include, but are not limited to:

Standard precautions and PPE

Cleaning/disinfection

Oral hygiene and grooming

Dressing and body mechanics

Injury prevention

Documentation

Safe transferring and positioning

Meal assisting/feeding

Elimination/ostomy assistance

End of life care

Qualified Applicants should possess:

High school graduate or equivalency is required. One (1) year of prior experience in caregiving, health aide, or long-term care preferred.

Must complete and successfully pass an 8-hour online course by the American Health Care Association. Training is free and applicants must successfully pass a competency skill test (achieve at minimum 40 out of 50 questions correct).

Results must be submitted prior to pre-employment screening. Online course can be found at

Demonstrate competency of policies, abuse/neglect training, and skills assessments during orientation at facility, including the physical ability to do heavy lifting.

Certification as a nurse aide on the PA registry is contingent upon Department of Education's requirements and Pennsylvania’s continued support of applicable waivers. Fast Track TNA's must be certified and on the PA nurse aide registry no later than 120 days from the end of the waiver/program. Failure to become certified before the program/waiver ending may result in loss of employment.

County residency required until certified. Temporary nurse aides will start as trainees at the rate of $14.63/hour. Upon certification and placement on the PA nurse aide registry, employees will become a nurses aide temp at the rate of $15.91/hr, and will then become eligible to bid on full-time positions at the rate of $17.00/hr; in addition, once full-time a sign-on bonus of $2,500.00 may apply if program still in effect - contact us for more details!
